On 4–5 July 2026, 20 women took part in the SAILWISE Pilot Days in Ancona, Italy. The two-day event brought experiential learning, collaboration and personal development together through sailing.
Participants tested selected modules from the SAILWISE Toolkit and shared practical feedback on their relevance, clarity and use in real sailing environments. Interactive workshops and on-water activities focused on confidence, teamwork, trust and leadership, while creating a supportive learning atmosphere from the very beginning.
On board, participants practised cooperative sailing, explored positive boat culture and gradually took on greater responsibility. The programme also connected sailing with environmental awareness and concluded with guided reflection on managing fear, stress and responsibility.
The Pilot Days confirmed the value of sailing as a tool for empowerment and inclusion. The participants’ feedback will help the consortium further refine the SAILWISE Toolkit before its final release.
